Journalist Michael Bridge has given Tottenham Hotspur a boost in terms of signing Richarlison because Everton need the money.

There have been reports stating that Tottenham Hotspur have ramped up their interest in Brazilian forward Richarlison, but they also have their eyes on his international teammate Raphinha, who is seeking a move away from Leeds United this summer.

Richarlison was the standout performer for the Toffees last season, he netted 10 times and chipped in with five assists in 30 Premier League games, as Everton just about managed to remain in the top flight by four points, which meant they finished six places lower than the previous season.

Spurs qualified for the Champions League last season after they finished fourth in the Premier League, and Antonio Conte has not spent any time messing around after he has already brought in Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, and Fraser Forster.

With Spurs being linked to Richarlison this transfer window, Bridge spoke on The Transfer Show and claimed that Everton need the money so they will be willing to offload their Brazilian star.

(7:34) “Richarlison, I think there might be some movement there, Everton need money, there’s interest from Tottenham and Chelsea,” Bridge said.

TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…

Richarlison would be a good option for Spurs, as he can operate both on the wing and down the middle, which would provide much-needed cover for Harry Kane, who was the only recognised striker in the squad next term, so if he gets injured or needs a rest, then Richarlison would be able to take his place.

The Brazilian forward might be keen to leave Goodison Park after the disappointing season last term, and Spurs have been given a boost because if Everton need the money, then it could make proceedings run smoothly, which is what Conte will want ahead of the new season.
