Christian Eriksen could yet be on the move this summer, with evidence revealed by James Marshment on the Just Joe Football Show suggesting the midfielder’s potential next destination.

Eriksen has gone against all of the odds to get his career back on track, after narrowly escaping tragedy at Euro 2020.

It always seemed a risk for the midfielder to come back to football after his cardiac arrest. Months on and no issues later, however, and we once again have the pleasure of watching one of the best creators in the Premier League.

Eriksen was a clear standout at Brentford, leading to increased rumours about his future; rumours that Marshment commented on, saying: “The information we’ve got at TeamTalk is that he won’t move north, his family are settled in London.

“He kept his house when he moved to Inter Milan. I think he rented it out to another Spurs signing at the time, but, for whatever reason, he’s still got the house, so he will stay in London.

”So, it’s a question of, either Brentford or Tottenham. He won’t move north to Man United, forget that.”

As of June 30, Eriksen will be a free agent again. Given how he performed at Brentford, wherever the Denmark international ends up, he will likely be amongst the deals of the summer.

TIF Thoughts on Eriksen

Eriksen’s story is quite something. From the end of his football career, which was deemed somewhat of a let-off at the time, to the player he has returned to now. Without him, Brentford may not have survived, given how slippery a slope was that they were on prior to his arrival.

The Dane arrived, before making all the difference, recording five-goal involvements in just 11 appearances. Of course, considering his impact, Brentford would love to keep Eriksen, but a player that talented, we feel, simply belongs in the Champions League.

A return to Spurs seems fitting, too.
