Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Southampton could be set for a busy transfer window with 10 possible arrivals coming in the door.

Southampton have been linked with several players in the summer transfer window, the Premier League side saw Armando Broja head back to his parent club Chelsea following a campaign with the Saints last season, so they are in need of a striker and Manchester City’s Liam Delap is someone who the Saints are interested in.

The Saints have already brought in former Manchester City goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu after he spent last season on loan with Portsmouth in League One, where he kept 16 clean sheets in 44 league games.

Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Crook claimed that the Saints are keen to bolster their squad this summer that is in much need of a rebuild after a poor campaign last term.

“I was told 10 possible arrivals at Southampton, so I think they’re keen to make a mark. I think they know the squad is in need of a rebuild and an overhaul because they finished last season really badly. So yeah, I think they are working hard on deals,” Crook said.

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Southampton had a disappointing end to the season when they failed to win any of their last six games, which meant that they ended up finishing 15th, just five points above the drop zone, therefore Ralph Hasenhuttl will be keen to bring in some new talent over the next few months before the season starts.

At the start of last season, Southampton lost Danny Ings to Aston Villa, which saw the introduction of Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea, but with him returning to his parent’s club, the Saints are in need of a new striker, especially with Adam Armstrong failing to have the expected impact after scoring just twice in 23 games.
