Presenter Joe Wainman has slammed the mooted price tag that has been supposedly agreed with Leeds United over the sale of Raphinha.
Even before the summer transfer market opened, it was widely reported that the Brazilian would quite likely end up signing for Barcelona ahead of next season.

While no official transfer has been sorted just yet, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently claimed on Twitter that the Spanish club and Raphinha’s agent Deco have agreed on a five-year deal and the deal will be complete if Leeds’ €55m (£47.2m) price tag can be met.

Apparently, not everyone is happy with the reported fee, Wainman took to Twitter to express his concern, writing: “This €55m tag best be a joke, man.”

TIF thoughts on Raphinha and Leeds…

With 11 goals and three assists for Leeds in the Premier League last season, it’s easy to see why Wainman rates the player so highly and is adamant that the reported price tag is too low.

Considering Raphinha has shown his quality on the international stage too recently – an 8.4 SofaScore rating against Uruguay for Brazil last October stands out as a notable display – it’s not hard to understand why Barcelona are chasing the winger in the current market.

The 25-year-old still has a contract with Leeds that runs until 2024 (via Transfermarkt) so this might explain why Wainman is expecting a higher fee, but if Romano’s report is accurate it does look as though the presenter may well be left pretty upset if the Spanish outfit can stump up the money to get this deal across the line.
