While speaking on the Loaded Mag YouTube channel, Sean Casey has claimed that Newcastle United remain interested in Christian Eriksen.

It has been reported recently that Eriksen currently has several offers on the table for his services and Newcastle are said to be one of the clubs that hold an interest in him, although they do face stiff competition.

Eriksen was handed a lifeline by Brentford last season which he grasped with both hands showing teams and managers he was capable of playing at this level despite his heart scare in 2021 which has seen him receive multiple offers as a free agent.

He impressed so much, Brentford’s Pontus Jansson has shared his desire to see the Dane back at the Community Stadium next season after saying: “Hopefully he stays. He is a world-class player.”

Casey believes that the Magpies are still interested in Eriksen having already met with the player and his representatives multiple times.

“Eriksen is a very strange one, speaking to people in the background and stuff like that, they’ve given fairly good detail to people on it but nobody seems to be commenting on it, I know there’s this talk of NDA’s and stuff like that, we’ll get to that in a bit.

Would you like Newcastle to sign Eriksen?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“We’ve met with him two or three times, two I can definitely confirm and there’s another person saying three times, a person I really trust and he seems very keen. You don’t meet with a club three times unless you’re keen and I think he wants to see the project, and people like Sven Botman signing might maybe make him think, I’m going to challenge here.”

TIF Thoughts on interest in Eriksen…

Newcastle managed to make some statement signings in January by bringing in Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes and appear to be following that up with the imminent announcement of Sven Botman the Ligue 1 champion from 2020/21 and Champions League defender.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

However, adding someone Premier League proven, who operates superbly in the final third registering 52 goals and 71 assists in the competition, and has played at the pinnacle of European club football in terms of the Champions League final, would show everyone in the Premier League that the Magpies are now here to stay and can compete with the best of the best in the transfer market.
