Jacque Talbot has claimed on his YouTube channel that Newcastle United have held more talks with Luka Sucic.

With Newcastle likely done with bolstering their backline having added three new recruits, attention will almost certainly now turn to improving their options in the final third and midfield department.

The Magpies have been linked with a whole host of players such as James Ward-Prowse, Amine Gouiri and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, however, a more left-field option is said to be Sucic who would arrive as a young talent ready to take a place in Eddie Howe’s midfield both now and in the future.

Talbot believes that Newcastle have now held further talks with Sucic as they look to beat off competition from the likes of Liverpool.

TIF Thoughts on Newcastle’s interest in Sucic…

If the Magpies managed to beat off a powerhouse such as Liverpool to the signing of Sucic, who has been dubbed as the ‘new Modric’, it would certainly show the pulling power they now held within the Premier League, but also, Sucic would surely see the midfield options on Tyneside and know he has a better chance of beating them for minutes compared to Anfield.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

Sucic, at just 19, wouldn’t likely be a starter immediately for the Magpies, however, with long-term servant Jonjo Shelvey having just one year left on his contract, Howe may well see him as someone that can learn the game and develop behind the 30-year old and then slip into the midfield alongside Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes in 12 months time.
