Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has sent a message of support to Kieran Trippier after his call-up to the England squad.
Over the next couple of weeks, the Three Lions will take on the likes of Hungary, Germany and Italy in this summer’s UEFA Nations League.
Having not been a part of Gareth Southgate’s last team due to a metatarsal fracture, Trippier recently took to Instagram to express his delight after linking up with his national side once again.
He wrote: “Delighted to be back with the lads. Let the hard work begin!”
In response to this, Ghodoussi showed plenty of support for his club’s player, writing: “Well deserved.”

Trippier has not played for England in 2022 due to injury – indeed, his last cap came back in October as the Three Lions beat Andorra 5-0.
With that in mind, it is easy to see why the player was delighted to be involved again and why Ghodoussi was also happy for the player.

Trippier has impressed in a Newcastle shirt of late, with Eddie Howe telling NUFC TV (via The Shields Gazette): “Kieran’s been huge for us.” Meanwhile, when he picked up the injury that has kept him from England duty, the Newcastle boss said: “We don’t want him to be out.”
No doubt, he’ll hope to continue impressing his managers for both club and country after returning to fitness.
