Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Jack Harrison is someone who Newcastle United feel could fit in well with what the club has already got.

There have been recent reports that Newcastle are interested in bringing Leeds United winger Harrison to St James’s Park in the summer transfer window, but the English winger’s contract is not set to expire with his current side until 2024.

Harrison has been a mainstay in the Leeds side this season, he made 38 appearances in all competitions, whilst contributing with ten goals and two assists along the way.

Despite Leeds remaining in the Premier League this season, Jones stated to This Is Futbol that Harrison would fit well into the Newcastle side, and they may be confident they can secure his services.

“Getting good value is one of the key things that they’re looking for, and that’s why a lot of their shopping could be done in France, because they feel there’s good value to be had there. But Jack Harrison is a player that they feel could fit well, I think, with what they’ve already got,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Harrison, who has been described as ‘one of the best wingers‘ in the Premier League, has been one of the better players in a poor Leeds side this season, in the Premier League, he was the club’s second top scorer with eight goals, he averaged the third amount of key passes on average per game (1.2) and he had the second most successful dribbles on average per game (1.5), as per Sofascore.

Jack Harrison had the same amount of goals in the Premier League as Newcastle’s top scorer Callum Wilson in the Premier League, so he would certainly be a good option for Eddie Howe in the summer.

With the rumours of an exit from St James’s Park for Allan Saint-Maximin, Harrison could be a perfect replacement for him, with his impressive stats this season, and he would arguably be playing with better players if Newcastle invest heavily in the summer.
