YouTuber Mark Goldbridge believes Denzel Dumfries would “fit in perfectly” at Manchester United.

Goldbridge has been speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel discussing United’s reported transfer targets.

Calciomercato disclosed this week that alongside Bayern Munich, United were interested in acquiring the right-back, who only moved to Inter last summer.

The report listed a number of potential replacements that the Nerazzurri have identified in case of a departure and the Italian outlet has claimed that despite only signing the Dutch international for a deal worth up to €15m (£12.8m) last summer from PSV, Inter would be willing to consider offers in order to keep hold of other first-team stars such as Alessandro Bastoni.

Although a bid is yet to be made, it is fair to say that Goldbridge would be delighted if a transfer materialised.

He said: “I like Dumfries and I think he would fit in perfectly for what we do need at right-back.

“Even if you only ever saw him in the Euros, I think he showed what he can do as an attacking right-back, and I think that’s what Manchester United need. We’re Manchester United and our full-backs need to attack, and Dumfries would do that.”

TIF Thoughts on Dumfries to United…

With the Red Devils apparently listening to offers for current right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a new right-sided defender will presumably be on the shopping list, given that Diogo Dalot also failed to hold down a regular starting berth this past term.

Dumfries, labelled as a difference maker by Eurosport journalist Siavoush Fallahi, has directly contributed to 12 goals in 45 appearances at Inter, demonstrating the attacking intent that Goldbridge is craving.

Meanwhile, Paul Scholes has previously called Wan-Bissaka “useless on the ball” and the 26-year-old would be a surefire upgrade, although it is unknown what fee Inter would command with his contract not expiring until 2025.
