Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Erik ten Hag will look to raid his old club for Manchester United transfers this summer.

The Dutchman managed Ajax between 2017 and 2022 before making the switch to Premier League football ahead of the coming season. And as he looks to build a new side in his image, it seems as though he could be going back to what he already knows.

Indeed, if the latest claim is to be believed, Ten Hag will try and bring in the likes of Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax in the current transfer market.

While speaking as a guest on The West Ham Way podcast, Sheth explained his understanding of the situation.

He said: “I think Ten Hag’s going to go back to his old club in Ajax to try and get a couple of their players, like in Antony and Lisandro Martinez as well.

“So those are the ones that I would look out for as far as United are concerned.”

TIF Thoughts on Erik ten Hag and Man United…

According to a recent report in The Sun, United are ‘closing in’ on signing Antony from Ajax for about £40m. So it certainly looks as though Sheth’s information about Ten Hag chasing his former players is accurate.

Arsenal did look the favourites to sign Martinez, but now the Red Devils could well come in and make a move to steal him late on (via the Mirror) – once more backing up what the Sky Sports man has said.

Considering Ten Hag won a number of trophies during his time with Ajax, it’s easy to see why he may feel as though he can trust some of the more talented players he has worked with in the past. Taking it all into account, it does look as though his influence could have Manchester set for a bit of a Dutch revolution next season.
