YouTuber Mark Goldbridge has relayed an exciting claim on Manchester United’s reported move for Ajax winger Antony.

The Red Devils are yet to make a signing for Erik ten Hag despite seemingly having a number of reported targets since the Dutchman walked through the Old Trafford doors.

United’s priority is still Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, while an offer has also been made for free agent Christian Eriksen as the former Ajax boss looks to mould his squad in his image.

Defensive reinforcements could also be on the radar, with Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez and Villarreal’s Pau Torres being two potential targets, and a recent report has suggested that Brazilian Antony is also a strong target.

Goldbridge has strongly claimed that he expects a deal for the Sao Paulo-born forward to be completed and it is now a matter of when it will be done.

Speaking on his The United Stand Podcast, he said: “We are in for Antony. Antony is a priority signing – not because of United – because of Erik ten Hag.

“He wants Antony, he wants Timber, he wants De Jong, he wants Eriksen. Those four players, as I said yesterday, are four players he really wants. Whether United deliver them or not, completely different story.

“He wants Antony. Antony wants to join United, I expect this deal to happen, the question is when it will happen – not if, in my opinion.”

TIF Thoughts on Antony…

The £31.5m-rated wizard is a tremendously gifted right-winger and showed in Amsterdam last season why he is currently one of the most exciting young attackers on the continent.

The six-time Brazilian international directly contributed to 22 goals in 32 games under the former Ajax boss last season. Since moving to the Netherlands, he has found the net 22 times and delivered 20 assists in 78 appearances, highlighting his incredible influence in the final third.

Having played under the management of Ten Hag more than any other coach, the pair will undoubtedly know each other well, which could help the winger settle into life in Manchester a lot easier should Goldbridge’s hunch turn out to be true.

Previously described as “unreal” by Andre Noruega, the 22-year-old could well be at the forefront of an exciting and progressive new project under Ten Hag at Manchester United for the future.
