YouTuber Mark Goldbridge believes that Manchester United have a 60% chance of landing Ajax winger Antony as things stand.

Back in April, Marca relayed a report from The Times shortly after Erik ten Hag was announced as the new head coach at United, stating that the 52-year-old had already held a meeting with Old Trafford executives, with Antony named as a possible target.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that the Red Devils have a ‘genuine interest’ in the 22-year-old, who was brought to Ajax by Ten Hag – but they are yet to present a bid after discussing a move internally.

The £31.5m-rated ace enjoyed a league and cup double in the Netherlands last term, and the Brazilian could reunite with his former coach in Manchester. Goldbridge is expecting the story to intensify, but he is yet to be convinced that a deal can be struck at the early stages of these links.

Speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, he said: “Antony is definitely on the radar and it’s going to become more and more prominent.

“I’d say with Antony, I’m probably 60% sure we’ll get him at the moment. I’m not at the point where I think, ‘yes it’s definitely going to happen’, but I know that there’s work being done there.”

Goal Brasil said it would take around €60m (£51.9m) to sign the winger, who gives left-backs a ‘sleepless night’, according to Dutch journalist Johan Derksen.

He has been involved in 42 goals in 79 appearances in Amsterdam since his transfer from Sao Paulo in his native Brazil back in 2020 and would certainly fill the void of a left-footed right-winger at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both endured difficult seasons at United, who were bereft of any major attacking output, so adding goals from out wide would be a big improvement in the team.
