Journalist Michael Bridge has claimed that Manchester United have offered Christian Eriksen a very good package in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have reportedly offered Christian Eriksen a lucrative deal as Erik Ten Hag is hoping to bring him to Old Trafford, however, they have competition as Brentford have also made an offer for the Danish international.

Eriksen spent the second half of last season with Brentford, and he was impressive in his displays, after scoring once and assisting four times in 11 Premier League appearances.

With several clubs showing interest in Eriksen, Bridge has claimed on The Transfer Show that United might have the upper hand as Brentford will not be able to financially match their offer.

(8:48) “I’m hearing that they have offered him a very good package, which Brentford won’t be able to match, I was hoping last week that the fairy-tale of him returning to Tottenham would happen, I don’t think that is going to happen now, as of tonight with the information that I have been given lately, it does sound that Tottenham will be targeting other areas, there have been questions marks over whether he is an Antonio Conte player, can he put up with the demands, you know the pace the work rate the running,” Bridge said.

TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…

With Manchester United having a poor season last term, finishing sixth in the Premier League, Ten Hag will be keen to upgrade the squad before the season starts, but there is yet to be any confirmation of any new signings at Old Trafford.

Eriksen, whose passing was described as ‘out of this world’ by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, would be a good option for Ten Hag, he impressed last season for Brentford, he was the club’s highest performer with an average rating of 7.54, he averaged the highest amount of passes on average per game (40) and average the most amount of key passes on average per game (2.8), as per Sofascore.
