Reliable journalist Dominic King has revealed a potential hint towards where the future of Liverpool winger Sadio Mane may lie this summer.

Recent reports have suggested Mane is intent on leaving Anfield with just one year remaining on his deal with the Reds.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed Bayern Munich are ‘strong contenders‘ to acquire the Senegalese winger after six years on Merseyside where he has become a key feature in their recent success.

In 269 appearances under Jurgen Klopp, the 30-year-old has been able to find the back of the net 120 times and provided 48 assists across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

And with the Bundesliga powerhouses linked to the Liverpool ace, King revealed live on TalkSport what he’d been told on their interest in landing the wantaway winger.

He said: “I’ve had dealings with Bayern over the last number of years and I spoke to someone there about it. And it was like ‘well, is this being knocked down, is there anything in this?’ And I didn’t get a reply, shall we say – which told me a lot. This person usually tells me, you know, he’ll get back to a message. And I just thought without being told anything, I was told a lot.”

TIF Thoughts on King’s comments…

Given King has suggested this source would typically get back to him on the transfer latest and with Romano’s comments in mind, it would suggest Munich is a likely destination.

And it leaves a big question mark over whether Liverpool will look for a direct replacement in the summer or look to provide some further squad depth after Luis Diaz’s arrival in January.

Diaz has shown signs of being a possible Mane replacement, having taken to life in England like a duck to water, however, there is no doubt that Mane will leave big shoes to fill.
