How well do you know these Liverpool squad numbers? Starting off with an easy one: Mo Salah

£72m-valued Mane recently confirmed his intention to leave Anfield after six years at the club following his move from Southampton. Currently, the main suitors are Bayern Munich, who will need a new attacking player as Robert Lewandowski pushes for a transfer away from the Bavarians.

Speaking on TalkSport, McCoist shared his dismay at the Senegal international’s decision, and believes it could be very bad news for Liverpool. He said: “If you look at City bringing in Haaland, if Liverpool lose Mane… dear me.

“I think Liverpool’s recruitment, I keep going on about it, has been second to none, it really has. Diaz, Jota, going back to Van Dijk and Alisson, no mistake about it.

“But I think to myself, I know Bayern Munich are a brilliant club, great club, one of the top clubs in Europe, I’m just thinking, why would you leave Liverpool?”

TIF Thoughts on Mane…

It does come as a shock that the 30-year-old wants to leave Liverpool. The forward has enjoyed a fantastic spell at the club, scoring 120 goals in 269 matches and winning six trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League. The Reds are one of the very best teams in Europe, and Mane has contributed to that.

Should Liverpool try and keep Mane?

No

It may just be a matter of wanting to try something new, and few clubs are bigger than Bayern. He also may be looking to feature in a more central role, and if he were signed as a Lewandowski replacement, he would get that chance. Liverpool would be foolish to keep him if he has stated his desire to leave, but they must now get a fee that justifies his sale.
