Leeds United youngster Charlie Cresswell has been praised by journalist Joe Donnohue following his impressive performance for England Under-21s.
Cresswell made his Premier League debut this season for Leeds and featured five times in total in the top flight whilst making one appearance in the Carabao Cup. The 19-year-old defender was recently named in the England Under-21 squad and started last night in a 3-0 qualifying win over Albania that sealed their place at next year’s European Championship.
However, despite breaking into the first team this season with Leeds, Cresswell might be set for a loan move away from the club ahead of next season where he can get a full campaign of first-team football under his belt.
Cresswell was recently praised by journalist Donnohue, who said of his recent performance: “Strong, aggressive and proactive, catching Albanian attackers flat-footed as he leapt high into the air throughout the first half to clear danger. Cresswell didn’t lose a single header during the opening 45 minutes.”

TIF Thoughts on Cresswell…
Leeds struggled last season as they managed to avoid relegation on the final day of the season when they beat Brentford, but Jesse Marsch will likely bring in several new faces in the summer to ensure that the same issues do not occur next term.
With expected new arrivals to come through the door at Elland Road, this could lead to Cresswell slipping further down the pecking order, and he is at a stage where he might not want to settle for youth-level football, so a move to a club on loan where he will get first-team minutes would be beneficial for all parties involved if he is not trusted with a run in the side next season.
