Leeds United will land their second addition this summer with the expected arrival of Danish right-back Rasmus Kristensen.

This has been suggested by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking on the latest edition of his Here We Go podcast.

Jesse Marsch has already raided his former club, RB Salzburg, for midfielder Brenden Aaronson this summer, and it now appears the Whites are closing in on the signing of their right-back.

It was an impressive campaign for the 24-year-old in Austria, with a return of seven goals and four assists in his 29 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga (via Transfermarkt).

After what was a season to forget for the Yorkshire club, it appears they are looking to act quickly and decisively this summer, with Romano providing the latest on a move for Kristensen.

He said: “Rasmus Kristensen, this full-back will be a new Leeds player. Just a matter of final details, they will have to complete the medical, to sign the contracts, but he will join Leeds and will be the new right-back.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

This will be music to the ears of most Leeds fans after a season of difficulties in the right-back spot, which saw both Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas have their own struggles.

Dallas missed the backend of the campaign through injury and was unable to replicate his goalscoring form shown in the 2020/21 campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Ayling also had his injury issues this season and his absences were also added to after he received a straight red card to see him miss the final three games of the campaign amid their relegation scare.

With one signing already confirmed, it does seem as if Leeds have learned from their lack of business in the January window despite their mountain of injury issues.
