Journalist Alex Crook has said that he believes Brazilian winger Raphinha will leave Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Raphinha has reportedly told his agent that he desires to move to Barcelona over the next few months, but there is still interest in him from Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, who are keen to bring him to Anfield.

The Brazilian winger was one of the standout performers for Leeds last season, as he scored 11 goals, which made him the top scorer for his side in the league, as the Whites only managed to escape relegation on the final day by beating Brentford.

With several clubs showing interest in Raphinha, while discussing Leeds’ potential transfers to GiveMeSport, Crook insisted that he feels the Brazilian winger will leave Elland Road in the summer, which will lead to more incomings.

He said: “I think they need someone because Bamford had a wretched year with injuries, I’m still not convinced by Rodrigo, and I think Raphinha will go. One of the reasons Barcelona are willing to cash in on [Frenkie] De Jong is to try and raise funds to get him.”

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Raphinha was one of the better players for Leeds in a struggling side last campaign, as he had the most goal contributions in the squad (14), and with Leeds narrowly escaping relegation to the Championship, he might be looking for a new challenge ahead of next season.

However, Leeds remaining in the Premier League has perhaps increased the chances of him staying at Elland Road, as it would have almost been certain that he would exit if they were relegated. But it still looks like Raphinha will leave, as it might be hard for him to say no to moving to a Champions League club if they come calling.
