Presenter Joe Wainman has claimed that he believes Tyler Roberts may come good next season under Jesse Marsch for Leeds United.
Roberts has not featured regularly this season for Leeds United, in the Premier League he featured 23 times, but just seven of those appearances came from the start. Unfortunately for Roberts, he picked up an injury in Marsch’s first game in charge, meaning he was out for the rest of the season and unable to show the new coach what he could do.
Leeds had a disappointing campaign, as they finished just one place above the drop zone and had to rely on Burnley dropping points to secure their top-flight status for next season.
With the poor form of the Whites, Marsch is expected to make a haul of changes in the summer, but with Roberts having two years left on his contract and being just 23 years old, he might be one of the players to stay at Elland Road.
After the lack of game time that Roberts was given under former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, Wainman highlighted whilst talking on the Just Joe Football Show that the Welshman might be someone who could do well under the American next season.
“I think Roberts could do well under Jesse, in the narrow system,” Wainman said.

TIF Thoughts on Joe Wainman’s comments…
Roberts has failed to hit the ground running for Leeds since they gained promotion to the Premier League, as he has scored just one goal in each of the two seasons over 50 appearances in total.
However, the introduction of Marsch might suit the Welshman, as his natural position is an attacking midfielder, and Marsch is someone who previously has played two No 10s, so if he is not shipped off in the summer, it is perhaps likely he will be handed more game time.
