Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts has taken to Instagram to show that he is putting in the hard work in the off-season ahead of the next campaign.

There have been recent concerns that Roberts could be upgraded in the summer by Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch, with the Welshman failing to have the desired impact since signing at Elland Road from West Bromwich Albion in 2018.

Roberts featured 23 times in the Premier League last season, but just seven of those appearances were from the start. In the season prior, he played a more involved role as he started 14 times and made a further 13 appearances from the bench.

He was out of favour under former boss Marcelo Bielsa this past season, so the introduction of Marsch was a great opportunity for the Welshman to prove what he could do. Unfortunately for Roberts, he picked up an injury in the American’s opening game, which saw him sidelined for three months, with his return to the squad coming on the final day of the season when he was an unused substitute.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram to show that he has been putting in the hard work over the summer break to ensure that he is fit and ready to fight for his place in the Leeds side next term:

Do you think Roberts will be given a chance under Marsch?

TIF Thoughts on Roberts…

Roberts was unlucky last season when he picked up an injury in the new manager’s first game because everyone had a clean slate, so he would have been able to prove himself and show the Marsch what he could do and earn himself regular game time.

Marsch might be keen to give the 23-year-old another chance due to his injury as he has not had a proper opportunity to see him kick a ball in anger so far, so he could turn out to be a valuable player who suits the system that the American coach is looking to implement.
