Podcaster and journalist Conor McGilligan has praised rumoured Leeds United signing Armando Broja, despite his transfer links to many other clubs.

This summer, it looks as though one of the hottest properties in Premier League football could be the Albanian.

Indeed, according to reports, the forward who spent last season on loan with Southampton, is now wanted by West Ham United, as well as the Whites.

Rumours in the English media suggest that Leeds are keen on the forward, but with the Hammers, Everton and Wolves also to contend with, any deal will not be easy.

While talking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, McGilligan outlined his feelings for Broja, highlighting his ‘exceptional’ quality, though conceded that he could be out of reach in the current market.

He said: “His hold-up play is absolutely exceptional. He is good on his left, good on his right; got great balance and technical ability for a big man.

“I don’t think this would be a bad signing at all. And you look at the calibre of clubs that are in for him – West Ham are in for him, Aston Villa and Everton.

“So clearly, Leeds are going to be in the race for this guy, but there is no getting around he is going to cost around £30m.”

TIF Thoughts on Armando Broja and Leeds…

Still only 20 years of age, all of these clubs must feel as though Broja has the ability to fulfil his top potential – which he showed glimpses of in the past season with the Saints.

Indeed, six goals in the Premier League proved he knows how to find the back of the net at the highest level, even if his form did fade in the second half of the campaign.

Judging from his comments, McGilligan certainly subscribes to the idea that Broja would make a fine signing for Leeds. However, with the Evening Standard quoting a £30m price tag for the player, the Whites may have to watch the forward join another club this summer.
