Journalist Conor McGilligan has claimed that Leeds United will have to act fast if they want to sign Morgan Gibbs-White in the summer.

There have been recent reports that Leeds United are keen on signing Morgan Gibbs-White in the summer from Wolves, but the Whites might face competition from fellow Premier League clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.

Gibbs-White spent last season on loan with Sheffield United in the Championship and was vital in their campaign, but unfortunately, the Blades lost in the semi-final of the playoffs. The 22-year-old featured 37 times in all competitions, whilst chipping in with 12 goals and 10 assists.

With the impressive form of Gibbs-White this season for the Blades, McGilligan stated on the One Leeds Fan YouTube channel that he may be tough to get in the door due to the options that he has.

He said: “Leeds are going to have to face competition – there’s chat of Southampton, there’s chat of Leicester, there’s chat of Crystal Palace. Leeds need to get this one done quickly. It’s going to be a tough one, because the player is going to have so many options.”

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

Gibbs-White was vital for Sheffield United in the Championship this season, he was ranked second in terms of average player rating (7.16), he had the second most goal involvements (20) and he created the most big chances for his side (16), as per Sofascore.

These impressive stats are something that has caught the attention of many Premier League clubs, and with the poor form of Leeds this season, he is someone who Jesse Marsch could be keen to bring to Elland Road.

Only four sides scored less than Leeds’s 42 this campaign in the Premier League, so if they can add goals from the midfield, something that Gibbs-White has proven this season, then it would be a massive boost for Marsch.
