Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds United could still move for Adama Traore because of the relationship he has with Victor Orta.
Leeds have long been linked with a move for the Spaniard, who spent the second half of last season on loan at boyhood club Barcelona, however, they are reportedly not going to be signing him permanently after he registered just four goal involvements.
Talk is clearly rife about the future of Raphinha, who’s been the subject of at least one bid from Arsenal which was swiftly rejected by the Whites, although if and when he does depart, a new winger will have to be recruited.
While speaking on The Phil Hay Show, Hay himself has admitted that he can’t rule out Traore moving to Elland Road.

He said: “Traore is rapidly becoming the player who’s going to be linked in every window to Leeds until the end of time. He and Orta do know each other really well, so that’s one of those that I always have on the list of never say absolutely never, but I just don’t see how that fits.
“I don’t see why that would work for Leeds, I don’t see why he would be a player that they would go for.”

In the last transfer window, Traore, who was once called ‘unreal’ by Wolves journalist Nathan Judah when at the height of his powers, had the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona chasing his signature, but after failing to impress on the big stage out in La Liga, it looks as though some interest has dried up.
However, with just one year left on his current contract, Wolves may well be trying their absolute best to get him out the door, as it could be the last chance they get to bring in significant cash for the winger, so Leeds and Orta could well see this potential deal as one that adds competition and depth out wide for a fair price of £20m.
