Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that the deal for a potential move to Leeds United for Adama Traore is definitely still alive.

There have been reports stating that Leeds United are interested in luring Adama Traore to the club this summer, but fellow Premier League side Everton are also keeping close tabs on the Spanish winger over a potential move to Elland Road.

Traore spent the second half of last season on loan with Barcelona, but things did not go to plan for the Spanish winger, as he started just four times in La Liga, failed to score, and chipped in with just two assists.

With Leeds United showing interest in Traore, Jones has claimed to GiveMeSport that Victor Orta loves him, so the potential transfer is definitely still alive.

“They are obviously looking at other players too, but Adama Traore is on the list and the key thing to remember is that Victor Orta loves Adama Traore.

“He has wanted him in the door for ages so that one is definitely still alive,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Leeds have already brought in three players this summer, so it is clear that Jesse Marsch is not happy with the current crop of players, and with Leeds struggling last season, only one side outside the bottom three scored less than their 42 goals, so the American coach might be keen to bring in some attacking players before the season starts.

With Raphinha looking like he might be leaving Leeds, Marsch will need to find a replacement for him, and he might opt to do this by bringing in two players to share the role, and Traore, who has been described as a ‘freak’, could be a good option for this/from the bench with his lightning speed.

However, he has not been in amazing form in the Premier League previously, he had made a total of 160 appearances but has found the back of the net just eight times and chipped in with additional 16 assists, so Marsch might opt to look elsewhere when recruiting a winger.
