Conor McGilligan has claimed that signing Charles De Ketelaere would be an unbelievable signing for Leeds United to replace Raphinha.

It looks like Leeds United could lose their main attacking threat Raphinha in the coming months, he was the club’s top scorer in the Premier League last season with 11 goals and scored a vital goal on the final day of the season to ensure his sides top-flight status for next season.

However, Leeds might have found a suitable replacement in De Ketelaere, who has been linked with a move to Elland Road, he netted an impressive 14 times last season in 33 league games for Club Brugge whilst adding a further seven assists.

With the expected departure of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, McGilligan claimed on the One Leeds Fan Football Show YouTube channel that he would be happy if they brought in Mohamed Camara and De Ketelaere as replacements.

“That would be an unbelievable signing, loads of people have already said online how much he looks like Patrick Bamford, it’s ridiculous if you haven’t seen it yet.

“He’s obviously going to be a top addition and that is going to be a really nice response to Kalvin Phillips going and potentially Raphinha going, De Ketelaere coming in and Mohamad Camara coming in, that would make me feel a lot better,” McGilligan said.

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

Although it might seem like bad news for Leeds if Raphinha and Phillips depart, they have already made three signings, so if they can use the money expected to be acquired for their current duo to invest in the rest of the squad then it could be deemed as a successful window.

Even though Leeds finished one place above the drop zone, this does not seem to have affected players when deciding if they want to sign at Elland Road, so De Ketelaere might see the calibre of players who have already signed, such as Brenden Aaronson who played in the Champions League last season and opt to join him.
