Joe Wainman has claimed that Charles De Ketelaere is the main target for Leeds United in this summer transfer window.
According to reports, Leeds United are pursuing their interest in De Ketelaere this summer transfer window, but the Premier League side face competition from Serie A champions AC Milan who are also interested in signing the Belgian attacker.
De Ketelaere was one of the stand-out performers in the Jupiler Pro League last season, he netted 14 times and contributed with seven assists in 33 league games for Club Brugge which is what has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe.
With Leeds United being linked with De Ketelaere, Wainman claimed on the Just Joe Football Show YouTube channel that he has been likened to Kevin De Bruyne,
“We know that the main target at the moment is CDK, Charles De Ketelaere. Who is also on AC Milan’s radar, this guy seems to be mustard, he seems to be the one that Leeds United really, really want, and a number of clubs really want. He has been likened to KDB [De Bruyne], for his tall stature. People say he has the slight movements of a [Lionel] Messi,” Wainman said.
Do you think Leeds will sign De Ketelaere?
TIF Thoughts on Wainman’s comments…
Of course, with AC Milan also showing interest, they can offer the sought-after forward Champions League football so it might be difficult to see him snubbing this move, for a move to Leeds who finished one place above the drop zone last term.
However, Marsch is seemingly not messing around this transfer window, as he has already signed three players for over £50 million, so if he can continue to sign these players, it will show ambition and is an indication of the direction that the club are going in, which could convince players such as De Ketelaere to sign for Leeds.
