Joe Wainman has claimed that Tyler Adams ticks all the boxes for Leeds United this summer after previously working with Jesse Marsch.

There have been reports stating that Leeds United have begun talks with RB Leipzig over a potential move to the Premier League for Tyler Adams. Adams has worked previously with Marsch at both New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.

Adams signed for Leipzig in 2019, and since then he has made 103 first-team appearances for the German side, including 14 appearances in the Champions League.

With Adams being linked with a move to Elland Road, Wainman spoke on the Just Joe Football Show YouTube channel and claimed that he ticks all the boxes for Leeds United.

“Tyler Adams ticks all the boxes in terms of he has worked under Jesse, he has a great relationship with Jesse. Jesse worked with him both at New York Red Bulls and at Leipzig, Jesse gave him his debut.

“He can play in a number of positions, he has had stints at right-back on the right-side of midfield but the deep-lying position is where he has played most of his games,” Wainman said.

TIF Thoughts on Wainman’s comments…

With it looking like Kalvin Phillips will leave Leeds United for the Premier League champions Manchester City, Marsch will need to act fast and find a replacement for him, and Adams could be a suitable option as the American coach has previous experience working with the 23-year-old which could make the proceedings run smoothly.

Adams might also be looking for a new challenge after he started just 14 times in the Bundesliga last season and made 10 appearances from the bench, and if he comes in as a direct replacement for Phillips, then Marsch could be able to offer him more regular game time than what he was getting in Germany, which could be a deciding factor in the move.
