Journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed that Leicester City are among a number of Premier League clubs tracking PSV winger Noni Madueke.

The London-born forward is currently plying his trade for the first-team in Eindhoven having joined their U17s back in 2018.

He came through the ranks at Crystal Palace before joining Tottenham but he has gone on to make 70 appearances for the Dutch outfit scoring 18 goals and making 14 assists.

The 20-year-old predominantly features on the right-wing and has been labelled as ‘very talented’ by his former England  U21 manager Aidy Boothroyd.

His exploits haven’t gone unnoticed either with Bailey listing a plethora of potential suitors and there is plenty of admiration for the flashy forward at the King Power Stadium.

Would Madueke be a good signing for Leicester?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast he said:

(48:14)”I’m told that Madueke is one attracting real interest here. I know that Gareth Southgate’s been keeping his eye on this player. There’s a lot of interest from England. Leicester like this guy a lot but there is a lot of teams Everton, Newcastle, Leeds.  Most of the big six have scouted him at some point.

“This is one to keep an eye on, I think this guy is going to come to England. Let’s see where he goes.”

TIF Thoughts on Madueke and Leicester…

While the Foxes do tend to play in a narrower 4-2-3-1 formation devoid of any out-and-out wingers the club’s only recognised right-sided player is Marc Albrighton so there is room for Madueke in the side.

Former PSV ace Tommie van de Leegte called the winger “explosive” following his tremendous form during the 2020/21 campaign and after battling with injuries this term he still managed to score nine goals and provide six assists further highlighting his potential and he could be a very exciting prospect should an English decide to take him back to his homeland.
