Greg O’Keeffe has claimed on the latest All Together Now podcast that Everton and Frank Lampard will be interested in Conor Gallagher.

The England international enjoyed a breakout season at Crystal Palace this season, featuring in 39 games across all competitions, with his performances earning him a first senior England cap and has been in every squad since then.

However, Gallagher recently sent an emotional message to Palace fans suggesting that he won’t be returning to Selhurst Park, and with reports claiming he will have to fight for his place in the Chelsea midfield next season, Everton are seemingly on red alert this transfer window.

O’Keeffe believes that Lampard, who will know Gallagher from his time managing Chelsea, will be interested in signing the midfielder this summer.

He said: “I’d just keep an eye on that, because I would think that with his age, an English player, you know, I would think it’d be a massive fee, so I’d keep an eye on that.

Could Everton sign Gallagher?

“There’s a degree of putting two and two together, but of course, Lampard would be interested, and if Chelsea were willing to do another loan, then I could see that being really attractive.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

While Everton may not be able to prise Gallagher away from Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis given their troubles in the league last season, as well as their likely inability to splash out huge transfer fees this summer because of the Financial Fair Play problems they have faced in the past, securing a loan deal with his former manager could be tempting.

Gallager would add someone much-needed youth and energy into Everton’s midfield, with their youngest central midfielder to have started more than five league games this season being Abdoulaye Doucoure at 28, so with Gallagher only 22 and having led the way at Palace in pressures this season, his energy and youth would be massive for the Toffees.
