It has been claimed that Frank Lampard wants to sign Adama Traore for Everton this summer.

The Toffees are yet to make a breakthrough in the transfer market and will be looking to change that as the window officially opens today, and if reports are to be believed, James Tarkowski will be their first signing.

Everton will have to box smartly this summer given the Financial Fair Play regulations hanging over them and the fact they’ve got a new stadium on the way, so bringing in players as free agents or nearing the end of their contracts could be their best strategy, which would make Tarkowski a smart signing given his top-flight experience.

Insider ExWHUemployee, known for his knowledge on West Ham’s transfer business, has claimed on The Transfer Show that Lampard wants to sign Wolves winger Traore.

He said: “They also like Adama Traore of Wolves now, who was on loan at Barcelona last year, They’re looking at maybe potentially bringing him in from Wolves as well.”

TIF Thoughts on interest in Traore…

The Spaniard, who was described as ‘unstoppable’ by journalist Ronald Morgan after his display against Napoli, got his dream move to Barcelona – the team he came through as a youngster – in the January transfer window. However, this was only on a temporary basis and that appears to be all it’ll be, as Fabrizio Romano has claimed the La Liga giants won’t be signing him permanently, which could be down to him scoring zero goals and registering just two assists.

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

Despite having a poor record when it comes to his attacking output – with just 26 goals and 55 assists in 321 first-team appearances – something Traore would bring to Everton is some pace and dynamism, as he ranks as one of the fastest players in the Premier League, but they may need to negotiate on the reported £20m price tag Wolves quoted teams in January.
