Everton: Ace attacker could well be on the move

Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that there is a huge chance Everton will be without Richarlison heading into next season.

Transfer insider Dean Jones told GiveMeSport last month that the representatives of the £45m-rated forward were already “sounding out potential new homes” before the Premier League season had even finished.

The Brazilian international scored six goals in his final nine appearances as he spearheaded Everton’s survival, but that could well be his parting gift, as while on international duty, the attacker has strongly suggested that he is destined for elsewhere.

He told Globo Esporte: “I’ve already made it clear to the board, I’ve already talked to [Frank] Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.”

Previous reports from Football Insider claimed that the Toffees would be listening to offers for both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, and O’Rourke is of the impression that “at least one of them” is on their way out.

He told GiveMeSport: “All signals do point to at least one of them leaving this summer.

“I think Richarlison has given out some signals while away on international duty that he has told the club what his plans are for the summer, so I think he is hinting there that he has told them he wants to leave, and there are quite a few clubs being linked with a move for the Brazil international as well.”

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison…

Indeed, there appears to be no shortage of teams interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been quoted as suitors, while Arsenal has also been touted as a potential destination in the past, as well as Chelsea.

Do you remember who Alex Iwobi was signed from?

With such healthy competition for his signature, the Goodison Park club should at least recoup most of the £50m they spent on the 35-cap Brazil international from Watford back in 2018.

With a squad of 29 players, Toffees boss Frank Lampard could shift some other serious deadwood and freshen things up ahead of his first full season in charge, with Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson linked with a move, while Jones has hinted that Lampard could use his connections at Chelsea to bring Armando Broja to Goodison Park.
