Club Brugge and Netherlands forward Noa Lang would make an “impact” at a club like Everton, according to respected coach and scout David Webb.

Italian outlet Calciomercato shared a story in May surrounding the talented former Ajax star, claiming that Milan were looking to win the race for the 22-year-old, but were currently behind Leeds United and West Ham United for his signature.

It was said that the Hammers are willing to offer Lang €3m (£2.6m) a year at the London Stadium, with a deal expected to cost any club €25m (£21.2m).

However, Webb, who has worked at numerous European clubs in various scouting and recruitment capacities believes that the Netherlands wonderkid would be an ideal fit under Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.

And speaking to The Athletic, Webb said on Lang:

“The Premier League will be tempting for a player who is now a full international and involved in the Netherlands’ current Nations League campaign. Arsenal have scouted him.

“Where Antonio Conte’s system at Spurs might be too rigid to incorporate him, he’s the type of player who might make an impact at a side like Aston Villa, Everton or Newcastle.”

TIF thoughts on Lang to Everton…

Everton are on the verge of a huge summer shake-up of Lampard’s squad as they pull themselves out of the damaging recruitment debacle that left them fighting for Premier League survival last term.

With the defence one of the key areas in need of reinforcements, the former Chelsea and Derby County boss would also argue that he requires goals and added firepower just as much.

Interestingly, Noa Lang has been tipped by Louis van Gaal to win the Ballon d’Or before Kevin De Bruyne.

Although listed as a winger, he actually operated as a centre-forward in most of his matches for the Belgian side in 2021/22 and his style of play seems to reflect the kind of modern, flexible forward that could appeal to Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell, with Lang able to operate both centrally and down the flanks.

Lang, who has been hailed as “amazing” by talent scouts, has enjoyed two solid seasons in Belgium, with the left-winger contributing to 52 goals in 85 games.

The 22-year-old could well be a perfect replacement for the reportedly departing Richarlison and his goal tally over the course of the last two campaigns suggests as much.

In 33 starts in the Belgian top flight, he registered seven league goals and 12 assists, as well as creating 19 big chances, averaging 1.9 key passes and successfully completing 1.7 dribbles per game, highlighting his incredible imagination in the final third.

The £19.8m-rated wing-wizard looks to have bundles of ability that could take him to the very top of the game, but whether he has the temperament for it to go alongside his immense talent remains to be seen.

However, we feel he is a young player that fits the calibre of player that Lampard should be looking at this summer.
