Journalist Dean Jones had claimed that with Everton will probably happen for Harry Winks whether it be on loan or on a permanent.

Everton are reportedly in talks with fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur over a potential summer move to Goodison Park for Harry Winks, but no concrete offer has been made as of yet as the Toffees want a loan deal with the option to buy.

Winks featured sparingly last season for Tottenham Hotspur, he made 19 appearances in the Premier League, but just nine of those were from the start, and he contributed with zero goals and one assist.

Richarlison has been linked with a move to Spurs, but whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Jones has claimed that this transfer has nothing to do with the Winks deal, and he fully expects the Englishmen to become an Everton player before the start of next season.

“Obviously Harry Winks is the only player who isn’t really affected by this.

“They really want to sign him, they could get him on loan, which could be handy, rather than having to buy him, but ultimately, that deal will probably happen anyway,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

With Everton struggling immensely last season, and only just scrapping Premier League safety with one game to go, Frank Lampard is expected to make wholesale changes this summer to ensure that a similar issue does not happen next season for the English manager.

Although Winks has not featured much for Spurs in recent seasons, it was not long ago that he was heavily involved in the England squad, and with him still being just 26 years old, he still has time to get his career back on track if he gets a run of games.

If Richarlison does want to leave the club, then they might be able to use him to bring in Winks from Spurs, but the Toffees reportedly want him to sign on an initial loan deal with an option to buy after the failure of Dele Alli, who failed to score or get an assist for his new club after signing in January.
