Reporter Adam Jones has slammed rumours linking Richarlison with an Everton exit and is demanding a higher transfer fee for his services, amid interest in the Brazilian.
Last weekend, journalist David Ornstein took to Twitter to share an update from The Athletic which revealed that Tottenham were interested in signing Everton’s Brazilian forward, with the Toffees thought to be seeking a higher fee than his reported €60m (£51m) price-tag.
In an update from Sky Sport reporter Rudy Galetti, he noted that Spurs are looking to ‘speed things up’ in terms of a potential deal and notes that the Goodison Park club are looking between €65-70m (£55-60m) for the 25-year-old.
The Blues paid an initial £35m to bring the striker to Merseyside back in 2018 from Watford, and the deal was thought to have add-ons to take the fee up to £50m.
The Hornets will receive 10% of any fee over £40m that Frank Lampard’s side get for their top scorer last season, and taking that into account, Jones feels the Finch Farm officials should stand firm.

Speaking on the Royal Blue podcast about his apparent price-tag, he said: “It’s just not enough. Obviously, Watford have got a sell-on clause – they get 10% of anything over £40m.
“How much better of a player is Richarlison than he was four years ago? I’d say he’s hugely better.
“I think he’s one of the most, if not the most influential player in the Everton squad at the minute, and that with it, should command a very hefty transfer fee if Everton are to let him go.”

The 35-cap Brazil international finished as Lampard’s top performer last season according to WhoScored and completed the campaign with the most goals and assists in the Everton side, which backs up Jones’ point about him being a highly influential player at the club, so Farhad Moshiri is right to hold out for a fee worthy of his status.
A figure of around £60m would go a long way in helping the Lampard put together a squad fit to climb the table in his first full season in charge, but they will have a tough job replacing Richarlison no matter what fee they receive based on his impact last term.
