Graeme Bailey has claimed on the latest episode of Talking Transfers that Arsenal are now confident about signing Youri Tielemans.

The Gunners are reportedly looking to bring in three or four significant signings to help bolster their side and kick on after a promising campaign overall last time out, and Tielemans appears to be one of those targets they’ve got lined up.

While away on international duty, the midfielder spoke about how he would always give his all for Leicester City, but acknowledged that he also has to listen to other opportunities – which will only fuel the fire in terms of him making a move elsewhere.

Despite the transfer window not yet being open, Bailey had claimed the Gunners are confident of landing Tielemans this summer.

He said: “We’ve managed to get a hold of a source close to the club who confirms that intent that the club are pushing ahead with this, they are very confident of getting him. They’ve spoken to the player’s camp at length; Leicester are accepting that the player is going now.

“He’s got a lot of interest from around the world, but I think he fancies a move to London. He’s ready for this, he’s long had Arsenal in his sights, Tielemans, and I think he ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal.”

Where did Arsenal sign these players from, let's start with an easy one! Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

It has been reported that the Gunners will have to cough up £25m for Tielemans this summer, which would be a major coup for them on paper considering that Leicester had to fork out £40m for him back in 2019 – and he’s since gone on to make 158 appearances across all competitions, lifting the FA Cup last year.

Tielemans, who was described as a ‘top, top class’ player by Pep Guardiola last year, would add great talent and depth to Mikel Arteta’s midfield and look to add some impetus into their attack from the centre of midfield, having managed 40 passes this season that entered the final third – something that was only bettered by Martin Odegaard by Arsenal centre-midfielders this past campaign.
