Dean Jones has admitted on The Done Deal Show that he would be surprised to see Arsenal sign Serge Gnabry.

It appears that Bayern Munich could well be set for some summer changes, with Sadio Mane linked with joining the club as Robert Lewandowski and Gnabry have been tipped for exits – although it remains unclear where the latter will end up despite Arsenal’s interest.

Gnabry was sold by Arsenal back in 2016, which saw him venture into the Bundesliga and join Werder Bremen, where his performances ended up justifying a move to Bayern Munich, but with Mane potentially joining the Bavarians and Gnabry out of contract next summer, reports have suggested his Bayern Munich future is currently 50/50.

However, when Jones was asked if he could see Gnabry returning to the Premier League, he had this message for Arsenal and their supporters:

Would you like Gnabry to join Arsenal?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“I can’t see him going to Arsenal, I just don’t see it at this point. I think it feels like a bit of a climbdown for him. I know there are other reasons to see that happening, but I’d be surprised if Gnabry landed at Arsenal.”

Aubameyang injury update at Arsenal

Where did Arsenal sign these players from, let's start with an easy one! Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

If Arsenal were able to pull off a deal to bring Gnabry back to the Emirates Stadium, it would surely be one of the signings of the summer, as he would arrive as a serial winner, goalscorer and goal creator, with 104 goal involvements during his time with Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, he has been labelled ‘world-class‘ by former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, so he may well arrive with pressure on his shoulders wherever the German ends up next.

However, while it’s likely that Gnabry would want to be with a team that can challenge for the top honours and play in the Champions League as he has been in Germany – which wouldn’t be the case at Arsenal – landing Gnabry could perhaps take the pressure off landing a reliable goalscorer as he would likely provide plenty of threat from out wide.
