Journalist Charles Watts believes Arsenal have ‘more to come’ in the transfer window after securing their first big-money signing of the summer.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of signings this summer, with Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus tipped as the club’s top targets, with a bid rejected for Raphinha already this window.
They recently signed Fabio Vieira from Porto, New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner and Brazilian youngster Marquinhos, and Watts thinks the club want to sign more players after sporting director Edu confirmed their transfer plans in a recent interview with Sky Sports.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Watts said: “Watching that interview, what I took away from it was it just felt like there’s quite a bit more to come from Arsenal in this transfer window by the way that Edu was talking.
“He knows exactly where they are in terms of Raphinha and what it’s going to take; he knows exactly where they are with Gabriel Jesus and what it’s going to take.
“I just felt like, watching that interview, that he’s pretty confident of being able to get some of his priorities, if not all of his priorities, done this window.”

The Gunners are looking to improve their side drastically this summer with top-level talents like Raphinha and Jesus, which they arguably need to do if they want to challenge for a top-four place that they just missed out on last season.
While players like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe impressed last season – bagging 12 and 11 goals across all competitions respectively – we feel Jesus and Raphinha could at least match their output next season.
In 2021/22, Raphinha bagged 11 goals – level with Smith Rowe – while Jesus bagged 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, which would top Arsenal’s list for both goals and assists last season, albeit those numbers were obtained as part of a title-winning Manchester City side.
While it will cost almost a king’s ransom to acquire both, with reports stating Leeds want £65m and City value Jesus at £50m despite only having one year left on his contract, both will vastly improve Arsenal’s chances at not only competing in the Premier League, but also the cup competitions including the Europa League.
