Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has urged the club to complete the signing of “absolute bargain” Youri Tielemans.

Watts was been speaking on his YouTube channel about all the incomings and outgoings at the Emirates Stadium and having noted that the potential asking fee could be as little as £25m he has urged the Gunners to make their move.

Tielemans appears to be one of three or four major signings that the north London club are looking to bring in this summer having narrowly missed out on Champions League football in the season just past.

Graeme Bailey revealed on Talking Transfers (via This is Futbol) that Edu and his fellow executives are ‘intent’ on capturing the Leicester City ace and they are ‘very confident’ of acquiring the player while also stating that the Foxes are now ‘accepting’ that their midfielder is going to leave.

The Telegraph sent the pulse of many club hierarchies racing at the end of March when they revealed that the Belgian could be available for £25m and Watts relayed that figure before pleading with the board to act fast.

He said: “There’s talk from journalists in and around the Midlands that £25m might be enough.

“For me, that’s an absolute bargain for a player of Tielemans’ quality. If you can get him for £25m, then you just get it done as soon as possible.”

TIF Thoughts on Tielemans to Arsenal…

Considering Leicester spent a club-record £40m on the midfield maestro back in 2019, signing a player dubbed “top, top class” by Pep Guardiola for just £25m would be a steal for Edu and company.

Only Martin Odegaard managed more passes into the final third than Tielemans (40) did this season among Arsenal players and having played a hand in 37 goals in 120 matches he has a knack for providing from deep and having scored the match-winner in Leicester’s FA Cup triumph in 2021, Arsenal should be hastily drawing up the contract.
