GOAL’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts is still expecting the club to try and bring in Youri Tielemans this summer despite the imminent arrival of Fabio Vieira.

Watts was speaking on his YouTube channel regarding the Gunners’ recent transfer developments at the Emirates Stadium.

‘A bolt from the blue’ as the journalist described it saw Edu and the Emrirates executives stun supporters with the news that the club had agreed a £34.2m deal for Porto midfielder Vieira with his medical now underway before an expected fomal announcement.

Nevertheless, Watts isn’t expecting this move to stop Mikel Arteta from recruiting Youri Tielemans for his midfield.

Graeme Bailey revealed on Talking Transfers last week (via This is Futbol) that they are ‘intent’ on capturing the Leicester City maestro and they are ‘very confident’ of acquiring the player while also stating that the Foxes are now ‘accepting’ that he is going to leave.

Do you think Arsenal will sign Tielemans?

This is Watts has said regarding the situation:

(5:40)”Where exactly he fits in, if he’s going to be a starter I have no idea at this point because I still think that Arsenal are going to move for Tielemans. I don’t think this means that Tielemans is a no-go when it comes to Arsenal I still think they are going to try push through and get that deal done.”

Aubameyang injury update at Arsenal

Where did Arsenal sign these players from, let's start with an easy one! Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Despite the expected arrival of Vieira one would feel that there is still a position at number eight for the Belgian to slot straight into.

In a best-case scenario Areta would be likely to have Thomas Partey sitting in front of the back four while Odegaard and possibly Tielemans providing the creativity from the middle third.

He has been called ‘one of Europe’s best midfielders’ by his current manager Brendan Rodgers and be a tremendous upgrade on what is currently available in north London. Tielem
