Harry Kane has made a huge admission on where his future may lie amid reports of a possible new deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
The England captain featured on the American television show, The Tonight Show, and was quizzed by New York City street journalist Adam Glyn as he walked the streets of Manhattan.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, Kane spoke of his journey to becoming the star he is now: “I was good when I was younger but I don’t think I was the best player on the team. I really had to work hard to prove people wrong,” said the 28-year-old.
Kane enjoyed an improved second half of the 2021/22 campaign in north London with Antonio Conte at the helm having struggled to get up and running before the Italian’s arrival.
Do you expect Kane to sign a new deal this summer?
And after a summer of transfer speculation, it seems the 28-year-old would now consider putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Lilywhites.
However, when questioned on the possibility of making a move to the MLS in the future, Kane replied to Glyn with a possible hint towards where the backend of his career could lie: “Maybe one day. One day, you never know,” replied Kane.
TIF Thoughts on Kane’s comments…
It may not surprise many to hear Kane’s openness to potentially moving to the States one day given he has previously spoken of potentially becoming an NFL kicker in the future.
However, this certainly seems like a dream for when Kane no longer feels he is capable of competing at the level required in the Premier League.
Kane has spoken of his desire to win trophies at Spurs and surpass Jimmy Greaves’ club goalscoring record so we do not think there is much to worry about for Spurs fans.
And the latest reports certainly sound as if the striker has become comfortable with the direction Spurs are heading in with the latest cash injection from the board and with Conte in the dugout.
