Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will be left with no other option but to financially back Antonio Conte this summer.

This is according to Alasdair Gold who has been speaking on his latest YouTube video following the Lilywhites’ draw on Merseyside.

Are you optimistic Conte will stay this summer?

There have been a number of reports suggesting the 52-year-old manager could be off in the summer with a potential switch to Paris Saint-Germain believed to be an option.

And the Italian voiced his honest thoughts on how the north London club handled the January transfer window with more players departing than came through the doors at Hotspur Way.

Conte has only had one transfer window whilst in north London, but with the summer market approaching, Gold believes there may have been a realisation by Levy that the funds need to be there this time around:

“Everything I hear, and again it’s another thing we’ll talk about, is that Tottenham are going to back him. They have to. They’ve got no alternative.

“Especially with everything happening elsewhere. Look, I’m Antonio Conte I don’t think is ever going to be entirely 100% happy I don’t think that’s how he is. He’s a very demanding man and he wants and he wants and he wants.

“So I don’t think they’re gonna make him entirely just but they need to make him happy enough that he feels he can achieve things and I think Tottenham are going to do that, I do. ”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We think there are certainly areas to improve over the summer at Spurs, however, it should fill fans with some confidence the board have finally realised there is only one way they can succeed this summer.

And that is by granting Conte the funds which he feels are required to improve this squad into one he feels he can make some real progress with.

There has definitely been a lot of improvement at Tottenham since Conte’s appointment, but it does feel as to break away from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United he will need to put his stamp on the side this summer.
