Cristiano Ronaldo does not have any intentions of leaving Manchester United this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert was speaking about the 37-year-old’s future on the Wondergoal podcast with reports suggesting he may leave the Red Devils this summer.

Do United need Ronaldo for next season?

Yes

No

No

It has been reported the Portuguese star could be set to leave Old Trafford for the second time in his career this summer with Erik ten Hag set to arrive in the coming weeks.

Ronaldo’s signing last summer has come under a lot of scrutiny this season with the likes of Paul Merson claiming the Red Devils to be a better side without him.

However, regardless of the criticism from certain members of the media, Romano believes Ronaldo is there to stay at Old Trafford with Ten Hag set to take charge ahead of next season:

“So I was checking given few days ago on Cristiano’s side, what is the feeling about these Manchester United rumours? With his future? What is going to happen? And the answer I’m receiving is Cristiano is not desperate to leave. Cristiano is not planning to leave the club or is not disappointed by the club.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Ronaldo has shown some real signs of being a key asset for at least another season for United with the 37-year-old currently the third-highest goalscorer in the league with 18.

So we do think United fans will be delighted to hear Romano’s comments given he has been their main source of goals this season amid the struggles of the likes of Marcus Rashford.

And with United set to undergo a rebuild with the Dutch manager at the helm, we think it could be a big advantage to have guaranteed goals and the experienced head of Ronaldo still at the club.
