Leeds United correspondent Conor McGilligan has taken to Twitter to share his frustration following a statistic to emerge amid their relegation battle.

With just four games remaining in the Premier League campaign, Jesse Marsch’s men find themselves deeply at risk of relegation with a tough set of games ahead.

Will Leeds survive the drop?

And amid their battle against Everton and Burnley over 18th place in the table, a stat has emerged of Everton’s recent improved form which has seen 53% of their points since October come in their last four home games.

After Everton’s impressive win on the weekend against Chelsea, the Toffees sit just two points behind the Yorkshire side with a game in hand over Marsch’s men.

Following on from this, McGilligan drew attention to Burnley’s improved form having pulled off a stunning comeback on the weekend away to Watford:

“Burnley had won only 3 games until 6th April – from then they’ve won 4 games in 24 days. You just can’t believe our luck. But as they say, you make your own luck in football,” McGilligan tweeted.

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

It is certainly a tough schedule ahead for Leeds with a trip to the top-four chasing Arsenal coming up on the weekend before a home clash against Chelsea.

And it does appear the teams around them are now finding some form at the right time with Burnley unbeaten since sacking Sean Dyche on 16 April.

With the Whites’ injury curse striking again with Stuart Dallas now out for a lengthy period of time, it is clear to see why McGilligan feels Leeds are not getting the rub of the green.
