Leeds United suffered yet another setback in their fight against the drop on Wednesday night with another defeat at Elland Road.

It did not take long for the game to produce a goal but unfortunately for Leeds fans it came for the visitors inside the first five minutes.

However, the drama seemed to have started even earlier than when Mason Mount put Chelsea one goal to the good with Phil Hay picking up on a touchline disagreement.

Liam Cooper was making his return to the XI against the Blues after what has been an extremely difficult campaign for the Leeds captain through injury issues.

The reliable Leeds correspondent had noticed the Whites’ captain sharing a few strong words with one of the cameramen who was taking his time to get off the pitch: “Cooper waving camera men off the pitch with a few choice words.”

TIF Thoughts on Hay’s comments…

This seems to have summed up what was another difficult 90 minutes for the Yorkshire side with another game – against difficult opposition – where Leeds couldn’t have started the game in a worse fashion.

Frustrations are clearly high and that transpired to the performance with Daniel James also losing his head with what was a reckless challenge on Mateo Kovacic.

With Leeds now rooted in 18th spot in the table, these final two games in their season will feel like must-wins and Cooper could play a big role in sharing his wealth of experience with the rest of the side.
