Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will be interested in the possibility of managing Paris Saint-Germain if the transfer funds are available for him.

This is according to football journalist Pete O’Rourke who has been speaking to This Is Futbol amid the recent reports linking Conte with a potential Spurs departure.

Do you think Conte wants the PSG job?

Yes

Yes

No

No

It has been suggested Mauricio Pochettino is set to be relieved of his duties at the Parc des Princes with Conte believed to have offered himself to the Ligue 1 side.

Reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed the reports have not come as a result of anything leaked by Conte’s camp. Gold did caveat his report by suggesting it would be unlikely for them to admit to it if it was them.

However, O’Rourke feels if the Italian is told he would have an influential say over the workings of the club and given serious money to spend, it would certainly be of interest to him:

You’d never say never in football, anything can happen. PSG obviously, have the finances to try and attract a manager like Conte and I’m sure that will be something that would be in his mind if money is guaranteed there to improve the squad and he gets the say on how things are on a PSG,” said O’Rourke.

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

Unfortunately for Spurs fans, we have to agree with O’Rourke’s thinking given Conte’s past showing very little evidence to suggest he would not leave Spurs despite only joining in November.

However, we do think there is still a lot the North London side can do to persuade the Italian to remain in N17 for next season and securing Champions League football would be a huge part of that.

The 52-year-old has reportedly made it very clear what he wants from the summer transfer window and we feel it is up to Daniel Levy to follow up on these demands.

Spurs knew what type of manager they were getting on the back of Conte’s Inter departure and we feel this summer will be the time to live up to his expectations.
