Rangers may have to cash in on Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos before the expiry of their contracts claims journalist Pete O’Rourke, who spoke to This Is Futbol.

The trio of Rangers stars see their deals run out at the end of next season with talks of new ones said to be opening.

All three men are aged 25 and look set to be part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s plans with Dean Jones recently stating that the club are ‘getting quite far ahead’ with their summer transfer plans.

It has been a mixed season for the Glasgow side who have enjoyed a memorable run in the Europa League but look set to relinquish their Scottish Premiership title to city rivals Celtic and some big decisions will need to be made this off-season.

Seasoned veterans Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield are set to become free agents with their contracts expiring at the end of June and O’Rourke has warned that if the Gers can’t tie down three of their new breed of stars then they should look to move them on.

Speaking to This is Futbol he said:

“Probably, it’s hard to say who really is a priority that I think all three of them would be, but if they’re not getting any indications that any of these three players are gonna sign new deals, you have to bite the bullet and think, right, we need to sell them and get the best price tag.”

TIF Thoughts on Rangers…

Should Rangers sell Morelos?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The club’s transfer plans this summer will perhaps hinge on who they can keep at the club. Any setbacks in talks with either Aribo, Kent or Morelos could force the club into selling and in turn looking at replacements.

A report from the Northern Echo listed Rangers among as a potential suitor for Sunderland and former Albion Rovers striker, Ross Stewart, who has scored 24 League One goals this season and would be a shoo-in were Morelos to be sold.

Meanwhile, German media have claimed the Ibrox outfit have expressed an interest in Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville which would seem to suggest that they are actively hunting for possible replacements should their current stars reject their advances for improved offers.
