Sky Sports presenter David Jones has sent the EFL a damning tweet ahead of Sunderland’s play-off final on Saturday.

Jones, a non-executive director at Sunderland, will be looking forward to seeing his side play at Wembley in front of what is set to be a stadium dominated by Black Cats fans.

Will Sunderland win on Saturday?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This is because Sunderland have currently sold over 43,000 tickets for the game on Saturday, while opponents Wycombe Wanderers have only managed to sell just short of their initial 19,205 allocation, which will currently see Wembley fairly empty for such a big clash.

Ahead of the game, Jones tweeted: “So @EFL as things stand there will be 20,000 empty seats @wembleystadium when @SunderlandAFC play @wwfcofficial That is not a good look for anyone! Please let us have another 10,000 at least.”

TIF Thoughts on the ticket situation…

This current PL centre-back almost signed for Sunderland back in 2015.

Sunderland will be desperate to have as many of their fans packed inside Wembley to push their team on and finally get out of League One having spent four consecutive seasons in England’s third tier – something that would have been unimaginable a few years ago when they were in the Premier League.

Despite Wycombe’s relatively small following and fanbase expected at Wembley, it certainly won’t be an easy game for Alex Neil’s side, as they’ve played their opponents twice this campaign, winning once at the start of the season before drawing 3-3 away at Adams Park, but with the Black Cats currently on a 15-game unbeaten run, Sunderland fans will have hope that this could finally be their year.
