Presenter Adrian Durham has claimed that there could be a selection headache for Giovanni van Bronckhorst ahead of the Europa League final.

Rangers have had a successful European campaign in the Europa League this season, and they match up against Frankfurt in the final of the competition this evening. The Gers fell short in the Scottish Premiership by four points, but they have a chance to get some silverware this season in one of Europe’s most prestigious competitions.

Aaron Ramsey has been injured recently, but he returned to action on Saturday and played 60 minutes against Hearts, which could be an indication that he may feature tonight.

With Ramsey returning to fitness, Durham spoke on TalkSport (via Ibrox News) and claimed that you can’t leave him out of the side if he is fully fit to play.

He said: “If he is fully fit, you can’t leave Ramsey out. There’s another little problem there with the midfield because if think [Van Bronckhorst] will play Kemar Roofe if he is fully fit and that means Joe Aribo will drop back into midfield.

“They’re strong in midfield, so who do you leave out, it’s a crazy problem to have and Van Bronckhorst has got to solve that problem.”

TIF Thoughts on Durham’s comments…

Ramsey has experience in the Champions League and Europa League with Arsenal and Juventus, so he could add valuable experience to the starting XI if Van Bronckhorst was to select him in the lineup for tonight’s final.

If the Gers win the Europa League, the supporters can almost forget about their league failure, so it is important that Van Bronckhorst picks the right side and secures the victory. With the fierce competition for places in the Rangers midfield, it will interesting to see who the Dutch manager picks in what is one of the biggest games in Rangers’ recent history.
