Kweku Afari has been speaking live on Sky Sports about how Celtic could operate in the transfer window.

Celtic have enjoyed a very successful season under manager Ange Postecoglou who was ridiculed and questioned from the moment he was appointed as the Bhoys’ new manager by certain pundits on TalkSPORT, but after delivering two trophies those people have gone a lot quieter.

Will Celtic thrive in the Champions League?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Bhoys managed to impressive reclaim the SPFL title off their city and league rivals with a game to spare while also seeing a mass overturn in players this campaign with 17 new arrivals and 20 departures and while that is a high volume of players, the Bhoys could be set for another exciting summer.

Afari believes that Celtic having a guaranteed spot in the Champions League next season could have a huge impact on this summer’s transfer window and budget as he said:

‘We know this season winning the Scottish Premiership means you qualify automatically for the Champions League, that means Celtic will be able to go again in next season’s transfer window and invest heavily in that squad.’

Which season did Roy Keane join the Hoops?

The pull of having guaranteed Champions League football for at least six games and the possibility of more can’t be underestimated when it comes to the calibre of players that Celtic will be able to go after this summer as it is certainly Europe’s biggest club competition.

While Celtic may be able to go far and wide for some new recruits, the fact they have Champions League football should also help to convince loan duo Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers to sign permanently, despite the latter having interest from the Premier League.
