Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been backed to dip back into the Japanese market once again ahead of next season by journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Greek-Australian technician is savvy to the league having coached Yokohama F. Marinos before arriving in Glasgow and made Kyogo Furuhashi one of his first signings at Parkhead, which has proved a trick scoring 18 goals in his maiden season.

Postecoglou then returned to the J.League in January to sign a trio of Japanese stars as he reunited with Daizen Maeda who he managed in Yokohama as well as signing Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.

O’Rourke now believes that the Scottish champions-elect will look to discover more hidden gems across the pacific ocean when the summer transfer window opens.

Postecoglou has already demonstrated a coy knowledge of the country and Lennoxtown executives would be as well to let the man in the dugout to continually identify transfer targets where he sees fit.

He has already got his hands on the Scottish League Cup and is on the brink of reclaiming the league title after a disastrous season for the Hoops last year with his additions this term helping the club to a league-high 85 goals, seven more than the whole of last season, and their latest sensation Kyogo Furuhashi leading the scoring charts on 15 goals.
